In 1985, two sisters from Clan O'Gara of Donegal had an idea. O'Gara's had been peddlers for generations. How could they share the magic of Irishness with others? Peddle items of a Gaelic nature ~ Mystical merchandise from Irish Peddlers with contagious laughs and twinkling eyes. They're Irish ~ magic would follow! Meghan Tallman and Janey Tallman Lyons began The Irish Peddler on a wish and a prayer and are still peddling 15 years later. No longer in a shop, Meghan (joined by Jim Clark) sells the wares around the Midwest at various ceilidh's, festivals, bawdy faires and the like... You will find things of a personal nature. Your clan's history or coat of arms on a porcelain ornament or matted for framing. Jewelry like no other ~ the Claddagh ~ known today as one of the four symbols of Ireland, is used as a friendship ring or a wedding band. Ancient designs are inscribed on more Druid-like bangles for those with a yearning for the older, wiser ways. Be careful what you wish for! It might come true! They enjoy their travels and invite you to call or e-mail them with questions or orders that you might have. While not able to stock every clan name, they will order and get it to you fast! If they do not carry it or have no source for it, they will find one for you. Relatives are always ready to help with a hunt for the impossible. Please feel free to call them at (816) 756-1849. No answer? Leavea a message and they'll ring you right back! |
